Yuri Catania lives in Rovio, at the foot of Monte Generoso, in Canton Ticino, and from his studio he looks every day at that 1704-metre mountain that dominates the surrounding landscape and that, from the first day he chose to live in that house, has been a great source of attraction for him.

In this shot the true protagonist is the sky: the cirrus clouds stretch like brushstrokes above the dark crest of the mountain, while in the distance the summit with its station can be glimpsed. The strong black-and-white contrast turns the landscape into a dramatic, mystical vision, where nature seems to fill with a deep breath. Hence the title, Mystic Generoso.

As in the rest of the collection, contemplating the mountain becomes a moment of creation for the artist: My Generoso records its changes of light, season and mood, like a portrait of the same subject repeated over time.

One print of the edition is on display at the head office of Banca Stato in Bellinzona.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0976/6007/6356/files/fronte_8c64622f-727f-4fb0-bd3b-954d66f3df06.jpg?v=1788040219
