Like the page of a visual diary, each work records a precise day: the mood, the place, the season and the hour enter the composition, the colour and the energy of the painting, which is never the same as the one before.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn this painting of 6 September, a night meadow lights up like a sky of fireworks: on a ground of deep, almost black green, a dense weave of turquoise and blue stems carries blooms of bright pink, magenta, coral red, lemon yellow, sky blue and pale lilac, evoking poppies, cornflowers and marigolds without describing them. The brushwork is broad, nervous, at times scratched, and leaves the direction of the gesture in view: the colours vibrate as if fluorescent, heightened by the darkness around them. The composition is all-over and ascending, without a centre: the densest, pinkest blooms surface at the top, the largest and reddest in the lower half, in a vertical rhythm recalling the tall grass of a garden seen at nightfall. It is one of the most energetic and nocturnal pages of the collection.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe A Day of Flowers project was born on 29 August 2025 in Honfleur, Normandy, during a road trip, inspired by a book by David Hockney on the iPad as a painting tool. From that first attempt in front of a tree, at a campsite, a daily pact was born: one flower a day as the smallest unit of cultivated beauty. Each work is painted digitally, then printed on cotton paper in its original format and framed by hand by the artist, so that the digital returns to the physical body of the work, regaining substance, edge and shadow.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA Day of Flowers is a meditation on time: not abstract time, but time lived and measured in gestures.
